Taikisha Group’s Sustainable Procurement Policy and Sustainable Procurement Guidelines
Guided by our Mission Statement and Corporate Philosophy, the Taikisha Group proactively addresses social issues to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, to enhance the Group's corporate value, and to achieve sustainable growth.
To conduct sustainable business activities throughout the supply chain with due consideration for the environment and society, this document sets forth the basic principles to be observed in the Group’s procurement activities as the “Sustainable Procurement Policy” and sets forth the “Sustainable Procurement Guidelines” as the standards suppliers are expected to follow based on this Policy.
We recognize that partnerships and mutual trust with our business partners are essential to sustainable growth. We respectfully request your understanding of this Policy and your cooperation.
Taikisha Group Sustainable Procurement Policy
1.Compliance with laws and regulations
We comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the countries and regions in which we operate, and respect international norms.
2.Fair and equitable transactions
We conduct fair and equitable transactions and are committed to preventing corruption and bribery.
3.Quality assurance
To meet our customers’ expectations and earn their trust, we provide high-quality systems and services with excellent safety and performance.
4.Respect for human rights
We respect human rights in all business activities and prohibit any form of discrimination, harassment, child labor, or forced labor.
5.Occupational health and safety
We strive to maintain and improve a safe and secure working environment and prevent work-related accidents.
6.Consideration for the environment
We strive to conserve the global environment and reduce environmental impact.
7.Information security
We ensure that confidential information and personal data obtained in the course of business are handled with due care under an appropriate management system, and we implement robust measures to prevent information leakage.
8.Business continuity and disaster preparedness
Through business continuity management, we enhance the resilience of the entire supply chain and strive to strengthen our preparedness and response capabilities in the event of a disaster.
Sustainable Procurement Guidelines
1.Compliance with laws and regulations
- Suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the countries and regions in which they operate, and to respect international norms.
2.Fair and equitable transactions
- Suppliers are expected to maintain an open approach to new business partners and engage with them in good faith.
- Suppliers are expected to select business partners based on an evaluation of procurement criteria (e.g. specifications, performance, delivery dates, and price), and to conduct price negotiations based on reasonable grounds such as past performance and current market conditions.
- Suppliers are expected to prohibit bribery and the offering or acceptance of any improper benefits or advantages, and to conduct transactions in a transparent manner.
- Suppliers are expected to cut off any and all ties with organized crime groups and other anti-social forces, and to reject any and all demands from such groups.
- Suppliers are expected to promptly contact and report to the whistleblowing hotline** if they become aware of any act or suspected act that hinders fair transactions in connection with the Taikisha Group’s business.

*To protect whistleblowers, our internal regulations governing the whistleblowing system stipulate that information relating to whistleblowers must be kept confidential and that whistleblowers must not be subject to any disadvantageous treatment, such as dismissal, on the basis of their reporting.
3.Quality assurance
- Suppliers are expected to establish an appropriate quality management system and strive to ensure and maintain the quality and safety of products and services.
4.Respect for human rights
- Suppliers are expected not to permit any discrimination or harassment in their corporate activities on the basis of race, religion, beliefs, origin, sex, disability, physical characteristics, age, or any other status.
- Suppliers are expected not to permit any form of child labor or forced labor.
- Suppliers are expected to respect the rights of workers, including the freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.
- Suppliers are expected to cooperate with the human rights due diligence conducted by the Taikisha Group and strive to prevent and mitigate adverse impacts throughout their business activities.
5.Occupational health and safety
- Under an occupational health and safety management system, suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable occupational health and safety laws and regulations and relevant safety standards, and to strive to maintain and improve a safe and secure working environment and promote the mental and physical well-being of workers.
- Suppliers are expected to carry out accident-prevention activities and strive to prevent occupational accidents.
6.Consideration for the environment
- Suppliers are expected to promote green procurement of purchased materials, equipment, and office supplies in line with the Taikisha Green Procurement Guidelines.
- Suppliers are expected to strive to conserve energy and resources, and to monitor and reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Suppliers are expected to promote reuse and recycling to minimize the generation of waste.
- Suppliers are expected to manage hazardous chemical substances in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and aim to reduce environmental impact.
7.Information security
- Suppliers are expected to establish an information security management system and ensure that the personal information of customers, business partners, and workers used in the course of business is managed strictly in compliance with relevant laws and regulations and other applicable norms.
- Suppliers are expected to appropriately handle internal confidential information and confidential information obtained from customers and other external parties, and to implement measures to prevent information leakage.
8.Business continuity and disaster preparedness
- Suppliers are expected to identify and assess risks in preparation for emergencies and strive to strengthen their preparedness and response capabilities in the event of a disaster.
